Fakenham Music Day
For the second year, Fakenham (via the Active Fakenham group) is running a small one day music festival based in the town square. Acts will be playing from lunchtime til about 8pm.
At the end of the evening, the 6pm slot, is the Fakenham invitation band. This year, I'm pleased to say that the invitation band will be using the Bob and Fred from the Groove Organic as a Rhythm section. Last year, we were able to use all Fakenham based musicians and rehearse a set. This year it was more difficult due to working commitments to take the time to rehearse something entirely new - so a pre built rhythm section was the order of the day.
With us will be Fakenham based and absolutely legendary Hammond player, Andy Cooper (Uncalled 4, Shunters, Claire Barker Band). Andy is the spearhead of the invitation band and did all the musical organising last year.
As for me - I've been asked to front the band on guitar, something I haven't done for a while (since last year in fact!)
Hopefully the weather will be kind to all the performers on the day, and we'll have another good turnout. There's plenty of food and beer on tap in the square, and lots of other activities in the surrounding area.
All the best
